Certificate of Completion in Biotechnology
The Certificate of Completion in Biotechnology is suited for individuals who seek exposure to the field of biotechnology. The Certificate requires the same biology coursework as the AAS degree however lacks the organic chemistry, biochemistry, math and general education requirements. Students who pursue this degree path often use the Certificate to compliment previous education and training. Those who have no previous exposure to chemistry or general education courses will find the AAS degree provides a more rounded education.
The Certificate of Completion pathway builds a foundation based on fundamental principles of biology and chemistry, and then explores the applications of this knowledge with 3 core laboratory courses. For this reason it is imperative that students take the courses in the appropriate order.
For full time students, the Certificate may be completed in 2 years.
