Science... is science.

Nothing worthwhile is going to be done correctly on the first try. Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because "...he lacked creativity...", and Thomas Edison attempted to create the light bulb 4,000 times before he finally succeeded! Abraham Lincoln lost 6 presidential elections before he was finally elected president, and when he did finally win the office of president, it was the only election he ever won!

Homecoming!

This morning MCC is having a festival for football. I'm not a fan of sports, but our biotech club is in charge of the tetherball booth. I guess students will come by with their dates and hit the ball around for a bit before they grab a 10:00am pre-game hot dog.

Study Time!

Based on my biotech experience thus far (BIO212AA), I have found that biotechnology is all about what you learn in class and apply it to what needs to be done in the labs. I use some information here and there that I learned in BIO181, but for the most part, I spend a lot of time online looking at what worked for other people in the related biotech fields. Almost everything we need to know for an experiment is explained clearly, and anything I don't understand I can read about outside of class. It's not a big deal.

Let me introduce myself...

This being my first blog entry, I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Ryan Barlow, and I have been attending Mesa Community College off and on since fall 2001. I have about 30 college credits now, all of which I’ve earned in the last 15 months.
